Sony Shares Its Plans on Bluepoint Games

Sony bought Bluepoint Games to make the original content. After numerous gossip and rumors, they decided to finally share the news. The corporation bought game developers and welcomed them into a friendly family of PlayStation Studios. Yet, there will be no remakes and remasters. Instead, users will receive fresh and unique content.

Bluepoint Games is an American-based game developer founded in 2006. The company is well-known for its remasters of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, God of War Collection, and The Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection. In 2020, they revealed Demon’s Souls for the PS5 console. Marco Thrush, the Head of Bluepoint, confirmed that they are working on unique content as a part of PlayStation Studios.

The President of the company said to the press that the new project is original. He did not share any specific information about it, though he claimed that the company considers it as an evolution. We still don’t know which new content the company will provide. It might be the next IP or the entry to the new IP, which is technically original content too.

Although Blueprint had been working together with Sony for years, the developers always stayed independent. They designed games mostly for PlayStation. Only two games: Titanfall and Metal Gear Solid HD Collection were published on the Xbox 360 platform. With these two games as an exception, the company usually worked with PS and Sony. Since they are familiar with working with Sony, it is highly unlikely that Blueprint will need time to get used to the new place. The company keeps its size unchanged, as well as the working methods. The studio can now focus on games development, using Sony’s resources.
