Snapchat Will Allow Top Creators to Use Mid-Roll Ads
Snapchat has decided to add a direct way for its content creators to earn revenue. It seems that soon the most popular Snap creators will be able to turn on the ads for people who view their Stories. Once it is done, a portion of the revenue generated by these ads will go directly to the content creator.
Unfortunately, Snapchat is not planning to share just how much of the generated revenue the users will receive. Their vague statement that the revenue will depend on a number of factors including audience engagement and posting frequency doesn’t really tell us much.
The three key factors that will determine that money earned include the total number of views, how well your Snap performed compared to other videos in Spotlight, your/your viewers’ geographic location. Thus, naturally, a very popular Indian or Russian Snapchat user will not be able to earn as much as a celebrity from the US or the UK.
Either way, Snapchat’s top creators are bound to earn at least some money from the ads shown during their Stories, enabling a great method of monetizing your work. At the same time, this new feature will provide advertisers with a new way of reaching their target audience.
The main reason why this feature is going to be introduced is to keep the top Snapchatters happy, allowing them to generate more income and incentivizing them to produce more videos for the platform. TikTok’s new monetization method, for example, caused a flood of new content creators to use their platform despite the fact that their method of revenue generation is not as well-made as the one used by Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat, or Instagram.
Do you think that such a feature will benefit Snapchat and its creators? Or will the constant ads drive the users away from this platform? Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
