Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 Trailer and When to Expect
Poppy Playtime was one of the most prominent indie horror games of 2021. The delight shared by millions of fans was a little spoiled by the fact that it was only the first chapter. And, finally, the long-awaited second chapter is confirmed. The release date and the trailer have arrived.
If you somehow missed all the hype around the original game, Poppy Playtime is a first-person survival horror story where the protagonist explores the sinister secrets of an abandoned toy factory. The setting and the genre provoked numerous comparisons to an already iconic franchise Five Nights at Freddy’s. The developer, MOB Games, left a cliffhanger at the end of the episode, so, given the success of the game, the sequel was inevitable. And, according to the announcement MOB Games made on Twitter, the next chapter arrives in late February, or at least in March 2022.
And finally, on February 22, the trailer of Episode 2 was released. Little does it reveal about the storyline of the episode, though it openly confirms that the sequel will maintain the style and the quality of the first one. We still see the GrabPack with two hands, the puppets that are more alive than they seem, and a reasonable share of jumpscares which the game does use but doesn’t abuse.
The name of Episode 2 is “Fly in the Web”, which promises a long, slow, immersive gameplay. This is exactly what most of the players want. You will also see familiar puppets, colored balls, and even the iconic trains that are part one of the first puzzles in the first episode. Still, we can be sure there will be quite a large share of new content that will enrich the Poppy Playtime lore.
