Kate: Collateral Damages Catches Up With Netflix Movie

The upcoming release on Steam is an action-packed adventure game titled "Kate: Collateral Damage," which features a protagonist who is a skilled assassin. Anticipated to launch on October 22, the game may sound familiar even though it has not yet hit the platform. This is likely because just a month previously, a film centered around the same character — Kate, the assassin — made its debut, captivating audiences with her intense quest to locate an antidote within a 24-hour timeframe to counteract a lethal poison.

The film, produced by Netflix, has garnered attention with Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the starring role of Kate. The narrative for both the film and the game are aligned, so those familiar with one will easily transition into the other. In the game, players step into Kate's shoes on her urgent mission to secure a cure. The gameplay mechanics allow players to prolong their survival by eliminating adversaries, which slows down the ticking countdown. Additionally, players can discover an array of syringes filled with stimulants that promise to aid in their perilous journey.

The movie tells the story of Kate and her enemy, who turned out to befriend Ani. The same you see in the game. Besides, the atmosphere of the game is incredibly similar to the movie. Everything is lit in neon colors. The game was developed by Ludic Studios. You may know them from the indie cyberpunk game Akane. It has numerous similarities with Kate. Akane is also a warrior who wanders around neon-lit Japanese streets and fights with warriors. Like Akane, you will travel around Tokyo too.

Kate: Collateral Damage is not released yet, but can be added to your Wishlist on Steam Store. It is a single-player game, completely inspired by the movie. Unfortunately, we don’t know the price since it has not been announced. However, it is probably not tied to the subscription to Netflix, and anyone will be able to buy it. The game may have an age rate, based on the wide number of scenes with violence. Developers warn about it in advance.

Are you waiting for the new game? Have you watched the movie already? How do you like it? You are welcome to share your thoughts in the comments below.
