A Deal With Nbcuniversal Brings New Content to Snapchat

In the fight for popularity, Snapchat signs a contract with NBCUniversal, which will add audios from a lot of famous shows like The Office, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Shrek, and many more to the app. This deal is not the first one in Snapchat’s pocket but could be really helpful in entertaining its users. Now you can use these audios in your snaps and send them to friends, making your experience in the app more exciting.

This function also provides information about the show, which is featured in the clip. Upon swiping you can find out the name of the NBC title mentioned, and different streaming platforms, where you can catch up on your favorite series.

Snapchat’s senior vice president of content and partnerships, Ben Schwerin told Hollywood Reporter that this deal would help Snapchatters express their emotions and share stories with the help of their favorite shows. This contract is expected to bring amazing new opportunities to the app.

Previously, Snapchat has signed deals with Warner Music Group, Universal Music Publishing Group, and many more, allowing users to explore a variety of sounds in their snaps. Spotlight, a recently added feature, constitutes an interactive vertical feed full of short clips. On top of that, a payment method had been introduced to users for creating the most favored Spotlight clips. Snapchat motivates creators to use certain Lenses and sounds and take part in interesting challenges in their Spotlights by providing in-app rewards.

These updates could be a move to catch up with TikTok’s rather quickly growing audience of 1 billion users (as of 2021), while Snapchat has recently reached only 293 million.

Will you use these new exciting functions? Who do you think will win in this fight between TikTok and Snapchat? Share this post with friends and let us know your opinion in the comments below.
