WhatsApp Adds Waveform Feature to Voice Messages

WhatsApp is working on creating waveforms when you play voice messages. It will make the chat more dynamic and, as a result, more interesting. Now, you can play or pause the voice wave only in the linear form. WhatsApp decided to improve it a little because of its simple design. When this feature is ready, it will be available for both Android and iOS users. However, it’s not clear whether every device will support this update.

If you have an older version of the Android or iOS system, you might not see the waveform of the voice message. WhatsApp hasn’t indicated the system requirements yet. In case somebody who has an old WhatsApp version sends you a voice message, the waveform will be missing too. The developers are testing this feature now, so it might be improved by the time of launch. They note that some beta testers see waveforms in chat bubbles. Although, it’s not in all cases.

WhatsApp will increase the number of beta-testers soon. The developers plan another update, and more activations will appear further. So, the voice message waveform is not the only upgrade WhatsApp is going to integrate in the near future. It also reported the release of features that save device memory. For example, you will be able to forward stickers without downloading them or opening them in the chatbox. It’s not known when this feature will be released. First, it will be available for Android, and then for iOS.

It’s a small list of all possible WhatsApp features in 2022. Some of them might appear in December; it all depends on how quickly the work will be going. Being one of the most popular social networks, WhatsApp strives to make the service better since many people use it. What do you think about new WhatsApp updates?
