Twitter’s Userbase Has Grown by 6 Million in Q4 2021

According to the latest “Letter to Shareholders”, Twitter has attracted 6 million new users during the last quarter of 2021, while also increasing its revenue by 22%. This means that the total number of people who are using this app has reached 217 million active users.

The majority of the newly added users come from abroad, while 1/6th are residents of the United States. For the past 2 years, before the sudden rise, Twitter’s number of US users has remained fairly constant. Despite a fairly small increase in userbase, Twitter’s revenues increased by an incredible 22%, most of which came from advertising.

At the beginning of this year, Twitter added a few handy tools that could be used by advertising companies for measuring momentum. During Q4, Twitter has also been testing its app install ads, which seem to have greatly boosted the number of new installs.

Twitter Blue and other tools were also made available to professional users in the last quarter of 2021. Usually, it’s fairly common for the largest social media apps to slowly lose their popularity. Twitter, on the other hand, plans to increase its userbase by almost 50% by 2023.

It remains to be seen whether they will succeed in this endeavor, but such a large growth for an old platform sounds like a fairytale.

Do you believe that Twitter will be able to attract 100 million new users in just 1 year? What can Twitter do to achieve such astounding growth? Is it even possible for an old social media platform to grow this quickly? Tell us what you think in the comment section.
