TikTok Will Become Edible: The App Will start Its Own Restaurant

This will be a delivery-only restaurant, serving exclusive meals that went viral on TikTok. The joint will operate in the US.

TikTok is diversifying its activities. An upcoming service will be a restaurant inspired by TikTok's cuisine. However, it won’t be like Mac-&-D’s or any other classic diner — it’ll focus on deliveries.

The menu will consist of edible “viral hits” that have been gaining a lot of traction. For example, one of the expected items might be the baked feta pasta.

As it was reported, baked Greek cheese was the most googled recipe/food request in 2021 — all thanks to its popularity on TikTok.

Other dishes may be a smash burger, nature’s cereal, salmon rice bowl, birria ramen, pickled garlic, and hundreds of others.

There’s a chance to try all of those: the menu will be “refreshed” quarterly, replacing all recipes with some new ones.

First deliveries are expected to arrive in March. TikTok plans to open 300 delivery locations, later expanding the number to 1,000.

They will be located in the US only. But if the offer becomes a success, there may be a chance of the TikTok restaurants migrating overseas.

The menu will credit the original recipe authors. Plus, they will get a part of the revenue. As TikTok claims, the initiative has been deployed to support creators.

If this claim is true, the restaurant is more of a publicity stunt than a legit business venture. However, TikTok didn’t specify for how long the tasty (but barely healthy) campaign will last.

The TikTok restaurant will operate together with Virtual Dining Concepts and Grubhub. It is expected that food ordering will be available right in the primary TikTok app.

Soon you will be able to taste the most viral dishes from TT without having to cook. What would be your first order? Let us know in the comments!
