Instagram Launches New Functionality

Instagram is about to launch two make-your-life-easier features for its users. The Meta-owned picture sharing app will now grant its users the possibility to ‘Rage Shake’ their mobiles for the purpose of reporting an issue. The second feature allows you to delete individual photos from a carousel after the upload. Keep reading for more details on these two interesting features.

Instagram already offers the possibility to report problems to its customer service via the ‘Did something go wrong?’ question in their Settings. The new ‘Rage Shake’ tool allows you to actually shake your device once you detect a problem using the app and i.e., make the problem reporting screen instantly pop up. This makes reporting tech problems a lot easier compared to applying the usual 3-step sequence.

You may have noticed a similar feature on Facebook. Known by the name ‘Shake to Report’, it allows users to report technical issues by simply shaking their devices. There’s also a similar feature on Snapchat. With regard to Instagram’s brand new ‘Rage Shake’ tool, you will get the chance to make the most of it irrespective of whether you’re an iOS or Android fan. As of today, the feature is up for grabs solely to the users in the USA.

If you’ve always lacked the possibility to get rid of a single picture from a gallery on your Instagram feed, you will love the second new feature the company is bringing to the table. ‘Carousel Deletion’ helps you do exactly that: delete a single photo from the carousel. To get the deletion procedure going, hit the kebab menu, swipe to the image you want to exclude. The new tool will appear on top of the menu in the shape of a bin icon. Once a single image is deleted, hit ‘Done’ to save the changes. What are your thoughts on the new functionality? Will it make your IG experience easier?
