Snacks of crispy sesame tofu recipe for a different snack
Cooking the tofu with a crispy exterior adds many points to the pleasure of tasting, and will convince more those who still believe that this Asian product is bland and bland. We already know that quality is important, as well as how to cook it well.

- 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds (or more sesame)
- Fresh coriander or chopped parsley, 1/2 teaspoon
- 1 pinch ground turmeric
- Aromatic oil to taste (sesame, pumpkin, extra virgin olive with herbs …)15 ml
- 5 ml of lemon juice
- Orange zest
- Rice vinegar
- 1 pinch sugar
- Soy sauce
- Small fresh red chili1
- Garlic clove very chopped1
- Ground black pepper
How to make crispy tofu bites with sesame

Wrap the tofu blocks in a couple of layers of absorbent paper, place a weight on top and drain for at least an hour. Divide the blocks into two halves and cut each into squares or rectangles of about the same size.
Arrange the panko in a deep dish and mix with the sesame seeds, poppy seeds, parsley, turmeric and a pinch of salt and pepper. Beat the egg with a stream of milk in a bowl. Bathe each portion of tofu in the egg and batter well in the panko mixture. Continue with the rest.
Heat a not very thick layer of oil in a pan and fry the tofu pieces, taking care not to overfill the surface. It is better to work in two batches. When they have browned, turn each piece over and let it cook until they are at the desired crunch point. Remove and drain on paper towels.
For the sauce, chop the garlic clove and chili well. Mix in a bowl the oil, lemon juice, orange zest, rice vinegar, sauce and sugar to taste. Pepper the tofu again and serve it with the sauce on the side.

These snacks of crispy tofu can be an excellent entree as a snack, or we can distribute them in larger portions for two people in a complete menu, accompanying it for example of rice and grilled vegetables or tempura. We can also serve it with homemade teriyaki sauce, or add some pickled Japanese vegetables to the table.
